Collective Prayer
It was my privilege to lead the prayers at St Pauls this morning...
Dear Father in Heaven,
We thank you for this new day. We thank you that You give us life and breath and that You hold us in Your hand. You are our Almighty God, the Lover of our souls, our Redeemer. Thank you for Your grace that allows us to come boldly into Your presence together this morning. We are here to worship and adore You. Thank you for hearing our prayers.
Father, thank You for calling us to fellowship with You and to serve You. Please enliven the Church that we may join You in Your mission. That we may be Your hands and feet, Your light to the world. We pray for our brothers and sisters around the world seeking to reach out to those who don’t know You yet. May you refresh them and give them boldness and fearlessness. Please use them to open peoples eyes that they might turn from darkness to light to receive Your forgiveness.
Loving Creator God, lead us into ways of justice and peace. Help us to respect one another. We pray for the community, and in particular for City Lights outreach going on at the moment in South Auckland. What an amazing initiative to worship You through reaching out and loving the needy. Please give grace to all involved. Fill us with Your love that we might overflow with love to share. Give us power to reveal Christ in action as well as word. Oh God of hope and comfort, may those on the receiving end of City Lights know the power of Your healing love.
We remember Andy who died tragically during Parachute last weekend* and those who mourn his loss. Father, into Your hands we commit them. Please comfort and give Your incredible peace to those who mourn at this time. We praise You for Andy and all Your precious children who have entered Your eternal glory.
Let us now pray for ourselves and our ministries. <……..>
Thank you Emmanuel God for Your continual presence even when we are unaware of You with us. We pray all these things through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
